Warriors have interest in acquiring Cleveland guard Rodney Hood

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Trail Blazers have acquired Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin IV and two future second round picks. After hearing the news, the five-year veteran attended Sunday's practice to say goodbye to his former teammates.

The 6-foot-8, 206-pound Hood was selected by the Jazz with the 23rd overall pick in the 2014 National Basketball Association draft out of Duke. He spent his first season with the Kings before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for two-and-a-half years. However, he struggled to follow that up and is back to scoring single digits for most of the season.

Stauskas, 25, and Baldwin, 22, have not started in a game this season. The Cavaliers traded him to Portland as part of their plans to rebuild. During last season, Hood shoot better than 38 percent from 3-point range on seven attempts per game.

The Blazers (32-20) are now the fourth seed in the West.

Both Hood and Burks will be unrestricted free agents at the end of this season, with a trade allowing the Cavaliers to get something in return for them.

The 6-4, 200-pounder was the 17th overall pick of the 2016 draft out of Vanderbilt by the Memphis Grizzlies, who waived him October 16, 2017.

We're less than a week away from the NBA's annual trade deadline, and as expected, the Warriors aren't really looking to make any major trades before the deadline, but they could have some interest in potential buyout candidates before the March 1 deadline in which guys are playoff eligible.
