Chiefs' Tyreek Hill being investigated for battery on child

A source told the Star that the victim was Hill's young son that he has with his fiancee, Crystal Espinal. Hill's name was listed on that report.

"The club is aware of the investigation".

A source familiar with the situation said Hill's fiancee has been in contact with Overland Park police.

According to police reports obtained by KCTV5, police officers were called to Hill's home in suburban Overland Park, Kansas, twice this month to investigate incidents involving a juvenile. As of Friday evening, Hill has yet to be accused of any crime, according to The Star.

FOX4-WDAF has reached out to the district attorney and the Chiefs for comment but has not heard back yet at this time.

This is a very serious allegation especially given Hill's history of domestic violence.

Hill pleaded guilty in August 2015 to felony domestic assault and battery of Espinal, who was pregnant. He received three years probation after his plea. The domestic violence conviction was dismissed and expunged from his record previous year after he completed his probation requirements.

After being kicked off of OSU's football team the wide receiver transferred to West Alabama and was drafted in the fifth round by the Chiefs in 2016.

The Chiefs said at the time they had vetted Hill and were comfortable with their decision, and they put safeguards that included counseling and other checks they hoped would keep Hill on the right path. The team and the star receiver have been discussing a large contract extension that's expected to make him among the highest-paid players at his position. After completing the requirements of his probation, Hill's conviction was dismissed and expunged in August 2018.
