Drugs Put a Stop to Judgment Sales in Asia

The 51-year-old actor agreed to take a voluntary urine test which revealed cocaine in his system. He has since admitted to use of the drug, which is in violation of the country's strict narcotics laws.

"The arrest of Pierre Taki, who is featured in our company's title Judge Eyes, is something we find deeply regrettable".

"Sega has received the arrest reports and are now confirming the facts, but for the time being, we will voluntarily refrain from shipments and digital sales of [Judgment], as well as from things like posting the product's homepage", the company said in a statement, as translated by the games website Gematsu.

Taki-san plays the role of Yakuza officer Kyohei Hamura in Judgment, and you can read a description below from the game's official western website. "We apologize for any trouble this causes our customers or other concerned parties". "Sega has received the arrest reports and are now confirming the facts", said the publisher in a statement.

We've contacted SEGA for more information on its next steps, and if it's considering anything drastic just yet.

At least for now, it seems like Judgment may be done for in Japan, but what about the game's upcoming Western release?

"With a final product already in circulation in Japan, I can not believe Sega will keep the game hidden away from sight for long". The game is scheduled for worldwide release on June 25th, and it's now unclear if Sega will delay its launch or push through with its original plan. Newsweek has reached out to Sega for comment, but has yet to recieve as reply.

Besides serving as the voice and model for Judgment's yakuza Kyohei Hamura, Taki also played the voice of Olaf in the Japanese version of Frozen as well as the newly released Kingdom Hearts III.
