English Premier League match-week 31 betting preview

Manchester United will play Barcelona and Liverpool will play Porto in two of the four quarterfinal matchups determined at the Champions League draw Friday at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

We will play the first leg at home on Tuesday 9 April, kick-off 8pm, with the second leg to be played away on Wednesday 17 April, kick-off 8pm.

In the semifinal pairings, Tottenham or Man City will play either Ajax or Juventus, and Man United or Barcelona will face either Liverpool or Porto, keeping open the possibility of a final between Messi and Ronaldo.

The victor of Tottenham and City takes on the victor of Juventus and Ajax.

Liverpool's challenge for a Champions League and Premier League double sees them come up against Porto, with the first leg at Anfield.

English hopes are high that this could be their year in Europe's elite club competition after all four of their representatives made it through to the last eight.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he is relaxed about the prospect of facing Tottenham three times in 12 days, and says their Champions League tie is "50/50".

For Solskjaer, the second leg will bring back memories of the 1999 final, when the Norwegian came off the bench to score a stoppage-time victor for United against Bayern Munich at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium.

"I'm coming back to my second home".

Should United follow up their dramatic Round of 16 win over Paris St-Germain by beating the Spanish champions, Liverpool could lie in wait in the semi-finals. He won the treble in 1998 and scored the winning goal in stoppage time to secure a last gasp victory over Bayern Munich.

Ajax vs. Juventus and Manchester United vs. Barcelona are at 3 p.m. April 10.

FC Porto, who won the competition in 2004 under Jose Mourinho, are confident they can spring an upset after last year's mauling.

The Champions League final takes place on 1 June in Madrid. Since then, Barca have beaten United in two finals (2009 and 2011), and Ernesto Valverde's team will be favourites to progress to the last four.
