Spears' boyfriend, Sam Asghari, her mom, Lynne, and sister, Jamie Lynn, also showed their support for the singer.

This has reportedly has been struggling to cope with the mental strain and will spend a month at the unspecified health facility, TMZ reports.

Britney's life and finances have been held under a conservatorship headed up by her father since 2008, following on from when Britney suffered a much-publicised mental health slide.

Jamie Spears is said to have been instrumental in getting Britney back to full health during that initial episode.

Taking to Instagram, Spears wrote: "I've been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart".

"I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family", Spears said in a statement at the time.

Spears, 37, announced in January that she was pulling out of all her concerts and work commitments to be with her family after her father Jamie came close to death in November after suffering a ruptured colon.

Britney says her family has a "special relationship" and they are her priority.

Following the revelation that Britney was taking time to care for herself, her nearest and dearest flocked to social media to praise the mother-of-two for making the decision to seek help. "She also knows it is out of her hands and she needs time to heal right now". However, as Britney mentioned in her post, he had a long road of recovery ahead of him after his hospitalisation.

Britney is handling things the best way she can.
