Emilia Clarke Shares Photos Of Recovery From Life-Threatening Aneurysms

She has since made a full recovery, and even looked to her "badass" Game of Thrones character for strength.

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke kept it secret that she'd suffered two brain aneurysms during the early days of the show.

While speaking about what she went through on CBS Sunday Morning, Emilia shared some pictures from her time in hospital, showing her lying in her hospital bed in one picture and with a medical tube attached to her head in another.

Emilia Clarke has now shared some unseen photos from her time in hospital, after writing in The New Yorker about the brain aneurysms which left her in agony.

"You go on set and you play a bada** character and you walk through fire, and you speak to hundreds of people, and you're being asked to be - to work as hard as you possibly can." she said.

"I know she would have love to have been here, but, of course, 10 years of your life in an awesome series like that it's a big deal for her so we're super proud of her and we wish her the best of luck".

Immediate surgery for the second aneurysm didn't go as well as the first. I was like, 'What if something has short circuited in my brain and I can't act anymore?'

For Clarke, though, she found the humour: "I always say it's my taste in men that's no longer there!".

She said that after the second scare, she was anxious that she would never be able to act again.

The actor laughed as she revealed that in a video from HBO of the GoT cast recollecting their thoughts over the last eight years of Game of Thrones.

"That was a deep paranoia, from the first one as well".

"And that became the thing that just saved me from considering my own mortality".
