How the Huawei P30 got me excited for phone photography again

The P30 Pro comes with a high-performing battery, 4,200mAh, and is compatible with wireless reverse charging technology, which basically means you can charge any other Huawei device with your phone.

It's no big secret that Huawei is essentially prohibited from doing business in the USA smartphone market due to a seemingly never-ending trade conflict with China and mounting suspicions of spying, so when the company unveiled its latest high-end devices in Paris, we obviously didn't get our hopes up. Taken with the P30's f/1.8 aperture and 204,800 max ISO and the P30 Pro's f/1.6 aperture, optical image stabilisation and a mad-for-a-smartphone ISO of 409,600 and it's not surprising that Huawei's latest snaps low-light images like nothing you've ever seen before.

Huawei's CEO of Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, has expressed confidence that Huawei will become the world's largest smartphone company in 2020. The HUAWEI P30 Pro has also garnered global accolades with the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) awarding it "Best Photo Smartphone" award at their general assembly. For the objective of displaying more content, HUAWEI P30 Pro features a double-curved Dewdrop display with a super small notch and minimal bezels. Unlike its predecessor, the P30 line is fitted with in-screen fingerprint sensors. The P30 Pro is dubbed a "quad camera" with numerous imaging options. Through a new periscope design, the SuperZoom Lens supports high fidelity magnification of five times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom and 50 times digital zoom. The P30 Pro and P30 are available in the colours Breathing Crystal, Midnight Black and Aurora Blue, and the P30 lite comes in Pearl White, Midnight Black and Peacock Blue. Its 25MP front camera takes crystal-clear selfies and the 12+20MP+TOF 3D triple rear camera captures depth of field to take 3D images. However, it would be better if the brand thinks about expanding the P30's colour range in the near future. The company's gone and chucked an actual prism inside the phone, to further increase its range. Also, thanks to its fast-charging feature, the battery reaches 0-70% within a 30-minute charge. All the four phones run on the latest OS. On its front, the P30 Pro sports a single selfie camera (32MP).

At the core of this phone is a powerhouse of a processor-Kirin 980 chipset.
