ASUS ROG Phone 2 with 120 Hz Display to launch in July

On another note, the ROG Phone 2 isn't the first phone to sport a 120Hz refresh rate; that honour goes to the Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2. And while information about the phone is scarce, one thing seems to have been confirmed: the ROG Phone 2's display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz.

After announcing its partnership with Tencent Games for its upcoming gaming smartphone, Asus has confirmed the first major feature of the Asus ROG Phone 2.

The company disclosed the news in Weibo thanks to a partnership with Chinese fighting game "Under the One Man".

ASUS had announced the ROG Phone gaming smartphone in June 2018. We expect for most of these features to carry over to the ROG Phone 2, although the battery capacity might be increased and we could expect to see an in-display fingerprint reader.

The other specifications of the ROG Phone 2 are now under the wraps. This will allow users to experience a more immersive and smooth experience with the high-end Android games. We might also see a refined cooling mechanism and likely the notorious overdesigned gaming phone look with sharp lines and LED accents colors.

At this point, no other specs have been confirmed for the ROG Phone 2, although a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC is nearly certainly to be onboard this time around. Of course, just like its predecessor, the next ROG phone should include a plethora of accessories to improve the gaming experience like a ROG exclusive gamepad. It has been published by Tencent and the company is expected to bring more games optimised for the ROG Phone 2, given it has partnered with Asus.
