Tottenham are reportedly close to club-record move for Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele

Spurs also expect to complete a deal worth an initial £8.5m for Leeds winger Jack Clarke.

The 22-year-old will sign a five-year deal and is due to undergo a medical in the next few days, according to Sky Sports.

Juve's desire to sign Ndombele still remains, but they won't make a last-ditch bid to steal him from under Tottenham's noses.

The report details that a fee has been agreed for the Frenchman of around £55million plus bonuses and a move is close.

Back in April, Pochettino challenged Spurs to begin acting "like a big club" in regards to their transfer dealings, insisting that the summer transfer window will be one of the most important of his reign at the club.

And the French club's president Jean-Michel Aulas last night admitted Ndombele's exit was close, saying: "He is seeking a departure".

During Jean Lucas' presentation news conference, Aulas provided an update on Ndombele's future and even highlighted Lille's Thiago Mendes as a potential replacement for the midfielder who has emerged as one of Ligue 1's top players during his two seasons at Lyon.

However, the arrival of Ndombele - who has attracted interest from a multitude of European clubs - would be a real statement after their run to the Champions League final.

AS's report states Mauricio Pochettino wants the player and apart from Tottenham, there is no suggestion of other clubs being serious in their approach for Ndombele.
