4.6 quake shakes Seattle

This morning's tremor follows a cluster of quakes off Vancouver Island last week and a pair of major earthquakes that shook southern California on Thursday and Friday. The initial jolt was recorded at 2:51 a.m. Friday.

No significant damages or injuries were reported to city infrastructure, according to Tacoma and Pierce County officials.

The natural disaster, which was centered two miles northwest of Monroe, was felt south to Olympia, north to Vancouver, British Columbia, and east to Leavenworth. Numerous viewers reported feeling the natural disaster.

The state Department of Transportation said the agency would be inspecting bridges, but had no reports of damage.

KIRO reports the quake is the largest to hit the region since the 6.8 M 2001 Nisqually natural disaster.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers and it was initially ruled to be a magnitude 4.7 before it was revised to a 4.4.
