Aston Villa ready to pay €10m to sign attacker, player wants move

Brentford have completed the signing of Danish midfielder Mathias Jensen from Celta Vigo and are close to selling defender Ezri Konsa to Aston Villa.

The Villans have brought back Tyrone Mings to the club, this time on a permanent deal, after he starred for them last season in the Championship.

He quickly established himself at the back for Brentford and his performances and development have not been lost of Villa boss Smith.

'Ezri fits the profile of the type of player we were searching for, ' Smith told Villa's official website.

Konsa links up with Villa in time for their pre-season trip to the United States. 'It helps that Richard O'Kelly and I have worked with him before.

The 21-year-old Konsa has a bright future ahead of him and deserves the opportunity to play in the Premier League for Villa.

The defender, who joined Brentford from Charlton in 2018 for around 2.5 million pounds, was under contract with Brentford until 2021. I think everybody could see the connection that he made with the club as a whole and it is excellent news that we can continue the relationship in the Premier League. To join such a historic, massive club like Aston Villa is great. He gets around the pitch, good on the ball, takes free kicks and honestly I couldn't speak highly enough of him. As a kid I always used to dream about playing in the Premier League and for it to actually happen now is a dream come true for me and my family.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of facing the top players in the world".
