Louis Barry completes summer move to Barcelona from West Brom

The 16-year-old turned down a professional contract with the Midlands club and was also on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.

He subsequently played for England at U16s level and featured in a draw against Brazil earlier this year.

His talent at youth level is undoubted, with the England Under 16 global notching six goals in nine games for the Three Lions on top of a further seven goal involvements for West Brom in last seasons Under 18 Premier League.

But it is Barça who have secured his signing and on Thursday made the announcement of the player who will now be part of the Juvenil A side having signed a three-year contract.

Barcelona were joined in their interest in the 16-year-old by PSG and RB Leipzig, but confirmed his signing following his departure from The Hawthorns.

Barry was at West Brom from the age of six and was tipped to make the step up to their first team. He has been with the Baggies for 10 years.

He was given a chance to impress in Barca's La Masia academy - equivalent to the U18 football while he was playing at West Brom.
