Starbucks Pours New Tie-Dye Frappuccino

Tie-Dye is giving Starbucks a boost.

With tie-dye becoming one of the hottest fashion trends of 2019 Starbucks look to turn back the clock with the new Tie-Dye Frappuccino at participating locations in the United States and Canada.

The cost for a grande Tie-Dye Frappuccino at a Central Massachusetts Starbucks location Wednesday cost $5.45.

It's made of a tropical creme frappuccino base with dashes of red beets, turmeric and spirulina and topped with whipped cream and a final dusting of colored powder.

Shares of the coffee chain climbed more than 1% to a record high Wednesday after the company released a new Tie-Dye Frappuccino drink for the summer. Yes, sometimes those shirts would continue to stink of vinegar days after, and sometimes the colors would rub off on your skin if you got too impatient to set them set completely, but it was worth it for the fashion statement.

If you thought Starbucks was done releasing new summer treats for the season you were wrong, and this new one might just top the list in terms of excitement.

The drinks are crafted for their potential to go viral on social media with aesthetically pleasing colors and limited availability on menus. As a relatively controversial flavor (in our office, at least, the sentiment is split on bananas in general and specifically artificial banana flavored things) it's an interesting move for Starbucks to make, but if you're one of those people who pulls all the banana-shaped Runts sweets out of the box first, this is up your alley.
