Antonio Brown Loves His Helmet More Than Anyone Could Have Imagined

Antonio Brown Loves His Helmet More Than Anyone Could Have Imagined

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown has filed a new grievance against the National Football League over his not having a full calendar year grace period to find a helmet that works for him, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

A day later, Brown goes missing again over the helmet issue.

He had hoped to find a newer version of his preferred helmet that could be approved but the one he submitted failed a safety test conducted by the league and union.

The hearing in front of an arbitrator will likely take place Friday, according to Rapoport.

The biggest tell, however, was when Gruden was comfortable enough to joke about Brown's discomfort over his burning feet in the extra heat of camp.

"He has his original helmet, from what I have been told, since the minute it was issued to him from Pittsburgh and he brought it with him to Oakland", NFL Network's Rich Eisen said on his Monday show. And there's nothing wrong with supporting your players, on things that they believe in. He has missed time in training camp because of injuries to his feet reportedly caused when he didn't wear proper footwear during a cryotherapy treatment. I've never had a guy show up with frostbite, and fortunately we got that thing under control, and this grievance is no laughing matter. The Raiders are getting good competition at almost every position group, which should make cuts very hard this summer.

The 2019 Raiders were destined to be featured on "HBO's Hard Knocks".

Raiders general manager Mike Mayock gave Antonio Brown an ultimatum, and it appears for now the star wide receiver is playing ball. I'm talking about that whole helmet fiasco, of course, which has been an embarrassing storyline for someone who's supposed to be one of the best players in the game.

This should be an interesting season in Oakland. Too much noise right now.

"I feel like I was enemy of the (expletive) state". I'm on every channel! "Analytics don't." - Brown, when confronted with data showing why he has been the best wide receiver in the game. "My f--' head, the feet people after me". A really good player.' And he's a handsome-looking player, by the way.
