Machete star Danny Trejo rescues young boy from auto wreck

One of Holywood's most renown villains Danny Trejo turned to a hero recently after rescuing a baby inside an overturned auto.

Trejo told ABC 7 he works with special-needs children so he knew how to keep the little boy calm. CNN reported that Trejo at first tried to crawl through one of the vehicle's broken windows but was unable to unhook the seat belt holding the child seat.

Trejo grew up in Los Angeles and made a name for himself for decades by taking up the role of tough guys and villains in blockbusters.

"I said, "We have to use our superpowers.' So he screamed, "superpowers, ' and we started yelling 'superpowers" back and forth to each other", Trejo told The Washington Post on Wednesday night". The woman, identified by media outlets as Monica Jackson, told NBC Los Angeles that the mother was in a lot of pain but repeatedly told them to help her child. "I kept facing him away from the accident", Trejo added.

Trejo said the drama all started when the driver of a auto ran a red light and t-boned an older woman driving a Ford Explorer in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles, which then flipped the vehicle on to its roof.

"Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else".

The female bystander said a woman inside the auto was hurt herself but kept repeating, "Get my baby, get my baby".

Trejo said while firefighters were working to free the grandmother, he distracted the boy. He also advised parents and motorists to "pay attention" to avoid similar situations. "Everything", he said. "And that's the way I live." See?

The Los Angeles Fire Department shared with ABC7 that three people were taken to a hospital, though none have life-threatening injuries.

The veteran actor, who has appeared in the hit TV crime-drama Breaking Bad and in films including Con Air, Desperado and Heat, said that his fortunes in life have been a result of him paying things forward. Knowing cocaine was on the set, Trejo went to support the young person, and ended up as an extra in prison scenes.

It wasn't a stunt for an upcoming movie. The auto, according to Trejo, hit an SUV, causing it to flip over.
