Man pushes birthday-gift BMW into a river

Man pushes birthday-gift BMW into a river

According to Fox News, the boy's father said: "I wanted to give my son a birthday present".

A man celebrating his birthday pushed his brand new auto into a river because he was upset his parents got him a BMW instead of a Jaguar.

Locals spotted the BMW 3-Series floating down the Western Yamuna Canal and immediately called police, fearing someone could be trapped inside.

The young man's father told local media that his son had not deliberately driven the auto into the river but had swerved to avoid an antelope on the road.

The teen, whose name is Akash, lives in Yamunanagar, Haryana state in northern India.

BMW cars cost around (£41,400; $49,000) locally, with Jaguars costing about 4-5m rupees.

According to Akash's father, a wealthy landlord, no such request for a Jaguar was ever made before.

"Akash was demanding a Jaguar vehicle from his father, but when his father failed to buy him one, he threw away his BMW in a fit of anger", Mukesh Kumar, a station house officer for the Chhachhrauli police, told The Times of India.

Akash "threw away his BMW in a fit of anger", according to police officer Mukesh Kumar who added that it was bought through the sales of a Toyota Innova received from in-laws.

He dad said: "We have two cars, a BMW and a Swift. He deliberately pushed (the) luxury vehicle BMW into the river", a police report said.

A man allegedly sank his BMW into a river because he was angry his parents didn't buy him a Jaguar.

"We never imagined he would do anything like this".
