Netflix Reveals Olivia Colman in The Crown Season 3 Teaser

Netflix announced Monday that the period drama will return on Sunday, Nov. 17, almost two years after Season 2 dropped in December 2017.

The teaser trailer released today (see above) offers viewers a peek through a crack in a door, which is soon filled by Colman, a spitting image of the Queen complete with dress and crown. Colman will take over as the queen, from Emmy victor Claire Foy. "They love cheese, like cheddar cheese".

Netflix has announced that is the date Season 3 of the The Crown will debut.

The third series comes almost two years after the second season premiered.

Queen Elizabeth II's ongoing story is finally returning to the small screen. A new teaser also offers a glimpse of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II as she takes over the role from Claire Foy.

Ben Daniels (Lord Snowdon) and Helena Bonham Carter (Princess Margaret) will also star.

Season 3 picks up in 1964 and runs through 1977, and it features an all new cast.

Season three could well be the most dramatic yet; although, season four does promise the arrival of Lady Diana Spencer and the notorious premiership of Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female Prime Minister. Jason Watkins will play former Prime Minister Harold Wilson, and Princess Anne will be portrayed by Erin Doherty.
