Ninja Already Has 1 Million Subscribers On Mixer

Ninja Already Has 1 Million Subscribers On Mixer

Answering a question on Twitter about providing Mixer benefits to Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass members, Xbox head Phil Spencer said yesterday that these kind of synergies made "a ton of sense". But Ninja has expressed concerns with his Twitch schedule in the past, stating that he felt the community was sometimes too toxic to be around day after day.

Ninja announced an exclusive streaming deal with Mixer on August 1; he was previously the most followed streamer on Twitch, Amazon's video game streaming platform. The admission comes less than a week after the pro gamer announced he was leaving Twitch for Microsoft's platform.

Getting a creator like Ninja onboard makes a lot of sense for the up-and-coming platform, but we think it will need quite a few more big names to join in order to maintain the momentum that Ninja has started.

The actual details and rationale behind the decision are unclear, but the move is doubtless a major coup for the Mixer platform. Mixer (3 percent) also competes with YouTube Live (19.5 percent) and Facebook Gaming (5.3 percent). Despite having been on the scene since 2016, Mixer has largely failed to find a foothold, and even underwent a complete rebrand in 2017.

However, the streamer has been helped hugely by Mixer on his journey to reach 1 million subscribers. Concern remains that after the initial hype expires, Mixer's popularity will once again dwindle.

Ninja's Mixer Channel Has Over 800k Followers.

For what it's worth, Ninja has 825,706 followers on Mixer as of writing although followers aren't the same as subscribers.
