USA commandant concerned over South Korea-Japan trade dispute

USA commandant concerned over South Korea-Japan trade dispute

President Donald Trump said recently he received a "beautiful" three-page letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Kono, speaking outside Beijing after talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, also said Japan wanted Seoul and Tokyo to maintain a military intelligence-sharing pact that could expire if South Korea decides not to roll it over this month.

Biegun's trip to Seoul will reportedly last three days, during which he will meet with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Do-hoon.

Earlier this year a report by the Rand Corporation, a California-based thinktank with close ties to the United States military, said North Korea could possess as many as 100 nuclear warheads by 2020. Other food items are tested for radiation upon arrival in South Korea. -South Korean drills ended and that Kim offered him "a small apology" over the weapons tests.

In a tweet posted on August 10, Trump said Kim had stated "very nicely" in a personal letter that he would like to meet and resume negotiations as soon as the drills are over.

"We haven't gotten back to the table as quickly as we would have liked", Pompeo said in an interview with "CBS This Morning".

Beigun also denied media speculation that he may be appointed as the new USA ambassador in Russian Federation.

Mr Biegun denied media reports that he would soon take a diplomatic posting in Russian Federation, saying he remained "focused on making progress" with the North Koreans and "fully committed" to the goal of the denuclearisation in the North.

In reporting on the drills, North Korean media stated that the launches were warnings to Seoul, while the North Korean Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying the South would not be involved in any future dialogue.

The denuclearization talks have been in a stalemate since a June 30 meeting between the two leaders.

Many experts say North Korea's recent weapons tests were mainly aimed at applying pressure on the United States ahead of a possible resumption of talks, while registering its protest against the military drills.
