Waukesha flight attendant arrested after working drunk

Waukesha flight attendant arrested after working drunk

March fell asleep in the jump seat after takeoff, and passengers even had to fasten her seat belt, Scherb told the local outlet.

Julianne March is the Air Wisconsin flight attendant who is accused of being drunk while working on a flight between Chicago and South Bend, Indiana.

Prosecutors charged Julianne March, 49, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, after she was arrested on August 2. She finally agreed to a breathalyzer, which read.02, or about five times the legal limit for flight attendants, ABC reported. March reportedly began crying, and when asked where she was replied "Chicago".

Later evaluated in a private airport office, the 49-year-old Wisconsin woman was found to have bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on her breath.

"The flight attendant involved in this incident is no longer an employee of the company", an Air Wisconsin representative told ABC News. Scherb also said she "couldn't make it through a security announcement".

"We expect our regional carriers to take appropriate action as required when issues like these happen with their employees", a United Airlines spokesperson told ABC.

According to the affidavit obtained by the Belleville News-Democrat, the flight attendant told police she drank two vodka "shooters" before work.

"A few passengers reported they felt scared for their lives based upon the condition of Ms. March", the affidavit continued. Scherb told the network that United Airlines offered him a $500 or 25,000 miles for his experience.

March was charged with criminal public intoxication, a misdemeanor, according to the reports. She had been the only flight attendant on board for the journey.

Forty-nine-year-old Julianne March of Waukesha, Wisconsin, faces an August 29 initial hearing after being charged Thursday. United Airlines apparently didn't get the memo because the woman was sacked and subsequently charged with endangering passengers.
