Wilfried Zaha Told To Expect Fans' Backlash Against Everton

Wilfried Zaha Told To Expect Fans' Backlash Against Everton

"His beef is with the chairman and owners of the club because he's wanted to leave and they haven't received the offer that they think is sufficient to allow him to leave".

Having come up with Crystal Palace as a youth player, Zaha originally featured for the club in the Championship from 2009-13 before sealing a transfer to Manchester United.

But after remaining at Selhurst Park beyond deadline day, Zaha's return to action saw him given a generous reception by the Palace fans when he entered the pitch on Saturday.

The same story says that Zaha handed in a transfer request on Wednesday but he ended up staying at Palace for the first half of the season at the very least. Fans will react in the way they feel they should react.

"Of course I hope that they won't get on Wilf's back".

"The most important thing for us to do in this transfer window was to try and bat off interest from other clubs in Wilf Zaha because there is no doubt that with him, with Tomkins and Sakho returning and with the additions, we should theoretically be stronger than we were past year".

"I'm expecting him to be able to do those things".

He continued: "I trust him totally". There is no question that he has any disrespect.

"If you listen to Marco Silva's press conference and read between the lines you'll see how unhappy he has been from what eventually transpired from a window in which Everton spent a lot of money, I have them at about £110m spending gross". I can't say to you that he's delighted with the situation because it's not the outcome that he wanted.

Zaha has now taken matters in to his own hands in order to force through a transfer, and failed to report for the club's training session this morning. As well as a proposed Chelsea move for the winger in January.

"If a suitable offer was made for Zaha this summer from a club in the Champions League then a club would let him go".

Asked if he was concerned about losing Zaha when the transfer window re-opens, Hodgson replied: "We are in August!"
