Meghan Markle forced to rush home to Archie from fashion event

Meghan Markle forced to rush home to Archie from fashion event

The Duchess of Sussex looked chic and sharp in a white crisp shirt and a pair of pants as she stepped out to launch a clothing line for a British charity that helps unemployed women find work.

Introducing the new Smart Works collection, #TheSmartSet Over the previous year, The Duchess of Sussex and @SmartWorksCharity have come together to launch a very special initiative.

Serena Williams has praised her pal Meghan, Duchess of Sussex for making the effort to support her at her U.S. Open match last week.

Nonoo said of the constant criticism Meghan receives, "I think it's unjust, and I think that people should really focus on the good work they do".

According to People, the mum-of-one paired the look with butterfly earrings - which the late Princess Diana had previously worn on a trip to Canada in 1986. For every item bought during the two-week campaign, one will be donated to Smart Works for a woman in need.

Meghan and Harry, who welcomed baby Archie in May, also adorably excused herself towards the end of the event citing it was her son's feeding time.

"Since moving to the United Kingdom, it has been deeply important to me to meet with communities and organizations on the ground doing meaningful work and to try to do whatever I can to help them amplify their impact".

To date, Smart Works has depended on donations from individuals and brands.

Many of Meghan's friends have taken to Instagram to share congratulatory messages for the Duchess, including Misha, who announced her Smart Set collaboration in a post on Thursday.

"In convening several companies rather than one, we've demonstrated how we can work collectively to empower each other - another layer to this communal success story, that I am so proud to be a part of". Pics were hard to come by as the Duchess wore her hair down - perhaps purposely trying not to draw attention to the sentimental accessories.

"She asked me right from the start to do the white shirt, as that's kind of our signature", Nonoo explained, "and I said I'd be delighted to".

Since the birth of her son Archie on May 6, she has been caring for her child - although she has been seen privately attending a polo match where husband Harry was playing and watching the women's tennis finals at Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows, New York.

She said when she began thinking about helping Smart Works create its collection, the first person she thought about was her friend Ms Nonoo, a designer known for her own capsule wardrobe offerings.
