Two Zombie Rumors are Back: iPhone SE 2 and Display Touch ID

According to a recent report by the Nikkei, Apple is planning to launch a new iPhone SE next year in an attempt to increase iPhone sales which have been in decline. They asserted it will have an LCD screen to save costs (much like the iPhone XR), but will pack "most of the same components" as are coming in this year's flagship iPhones.

Next week, meanwhile, Apple is expected to unveil its new 2019 iPhone range.

Bloomberg's report doesn't mention whether or not Face ID might also be present on new iPhone models with in-display Touch ID. On the inside, the iPhone SE successor would equip an A13 processor, the same chipset that will power the three iPhone 11 models that Apple will reveal on September 10th.

It's unknown whether the new iPhone will feature a notched design and Face ID or a Touch ID home button to reduce costs, although the latter seems more plausible.

Apple gives a lot of importance to the security aspect of the device. That would make it notably bigger than the existing iPhone SE which ships with a 4-inch display. So unless you're in desperate need of an upgrade, you should consider hanging around so that you can compare the new iPhone models to other phones on your shopping list. Even so, however, there comes a time in every iPhone's life when it takes a much more precipitous drop in value, and that's right after a new iPhone model gets released. Releasing an SE 2 might not help Apple enough in the long run to be worth releasing. They could obviously just lower the cost of the original devices (which are apparently not that expensive to manufacture) but of course, Apple doesn't want to lose its premium image and with many people in richer countries prepped to pay for that experience, why change its winning formula. It has additionally been reported new software program replace for the Apple Watch might lastly add sleep monitoring to the gadgets.

Apple's iPhone sales have been slowing down mostly due to the U.S.
