Arsenal are ahead of Tottenham again, claims Arsene Wenger

Arsenal will return to Premier League action after the worldwide break when they take on Sheffield United away from home.

Wenger too had his moments when he lost it with the former United boss, insisting once he would "never speak about that man again".

But speaking on Sunday night, Ferguson was effusive in his praise of Wenger.

Ferguson paid tribute to the Frenchman through a video, saying that he is "an absolute legend" but not before he apologised for missing the charity event.

"I like the player and I thought it was a good decision [to buy him]", he added. We had some great times and it's wonderful you're getting this award.

"An fantastic achievement, hopefully we can see you around again one more time on the bench".

The Gunners now sit third in the Premier League table, but some supporters have cast doubts on Emery's tactics this term.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has had offers to return to the Premier League since departing the Gunners in 2018, but chose to turn them down because of his lasting affinity with the club where he was famously in charge for 22 years. But that's well deserved for you - for what you have done for the game. Love you as always and enjoy the night'.

"I think they have a good opportunity to do it this year because we look in front of Tottenham, we look in front of Manchester United at the moment and Chelsea is coming back a little bit, so I think we have a good opportunity to be in the top four", Wenger said.

And Wenger says the Ivorian will have to earn his place in Unai Emery's team on merit alone.
