Samsung is reportedly working on a cheaper Galaxy Note 10 Lite smartphone

Now it seems at least one more Lite phone is in development, which could be a surprise entry in the ageing Galaxy S10 lineup. Of course, that never happened and not only was the Galaxy Note 10 indeed pricier, it even had a more expensive sibling as well.

Keen to win over cost-conscious customers drawn to the base £729 model of the Apple iPhone 11, Samsung is readying a new smartphone that will sit beneath both the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy S10, offering a flagship-level performance - with a few sacrifices made here and there - at a diluted price. The device was launched alongside a less powerful version, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

The report confirms black and red color options, as well as a Europe-bound launch for the Note 10 Lite, but no details have been provided yet on USA models.

Xiaomi is also rumored to revive its Mi Note series of smartphones by the end of October 2019 so the affordable Note segment of smartphones is expected to have quite a competition this year.

I'm interested to see how Samsung would position a supposed Galaxy S10 Lite. The specifications will supposedly mirror those of the Galaxy A91, which features a Snapdragon 855 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 48MP/12MP/5MP triple-rear camera, 32MP front camera, 4,500 mAh battery, a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display, and will run Android 10. Would it be marketed as a budget alternative to the upcoming S11 series?

Of course, if Samsung is working on a Galaxy Note 10 Lite, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think a Galaxy S10 Lite is on the way as well. A recent leak may give us confirmation about the new A-series smartphone along with two other affordable smartphones by Samsung.
