Titans cut K Santos; Parkey reportedly to sign

But one particularly bad outing has just cost a veteran National Football League kicker his job.

Buffalo topped the Tennessee Titans 14-7 in week five to move to 4-1 on the season heading into their bye week.

He went 23-of-30 on field goals and 42-of-45 on extra points with the Bears last season. He then proceeded to whiff wide right from 36 yards, wide left from 53 and saw a 33-yard attempt blocked in the fourth quarter to boot.

"It was a very painful, extremely disappointing day", Santos said after the game, per the Titans' official website. According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, former Bears kicker Cody Parkey is likely to be a stopgap until Succop can return.

With Santos gone, the team will look to find a replacement for the next few weeks. "I feel sorry for my teammates, my coaches and they deserve to win and I have just got to do a better job".

Parkey, 27, earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie with the Eagles in 2014. A new home for Parkey, who worked out for them in early September.

The Titans had signed Santos before the season opener after Ryan Succop was placed on injured reserve. But he is more infamously known for missing a would-be game-winning field goal in last year's NFC Wild Card round. There's no doubt that the game could've played out differently if Santos had made those field goals.
